The Blue whale is the largest animal living on earth today. It can grow to 100ft and weigh 150 tons or more. The blue whale is considered one of the loudest animals alive. It's call can be heard dozens of miles away and deep from below the surface. The animal is call the Blue Whale for its distinctive blue skin. This creature is one of the few animals on earth that doesn't have to really worry about predators once fully grown. A blue whale is so massive that it has virtually no natural predators that can kill it once fully grown. the only animal that has a slightest chance at killing a Blue whale besides humans, are packs of killer whales. However these attacks are rarely successful and rare in nature. Even in these attacks though, the adults are rarely the target. The Orcas will more often then not go for he weaker and defenseless juvenile.
the Phylum the blue whale belongs to is called the phylum Chordata. This Phylum contains many creatures we think of as animals. One requirement to be in this Chordata is the Triploblast. This means you have a triple germ layer. The ectoderm, endoderm, and mesoderm germ layers to be precise. Something else that allows some animals to fall under this category is an exoskeleton. The exoskeleton basically means that your skeleton is on the outside of your body. This how ever is only found in invertebrates meaning that a creature has no spine. The last requirement that I will discuss is a complete digestive track. This means a creature has a mouth and an anus. now just because I have only mentioned three requirements doesn't mean that's all that is required for a creature to be in this phylum. There are several others but I will just simply not mention them.
