Since then the population had made head way but they are still on the endangered species list and only around 20000 to 25000 whales are left today. While Blue whales are seen all over the world but have areas the tend to prefer. Blue whale can be seen in the Alaskan gulf, the eastern Aleutian's, and the far western Aleutians. These locations are just for starters. The blue whale is a very diverse animal and can live in waters of varying temperature and mild depths. One of the thing that is required for one for one of these giants of nature to live is a large population of krill. This small crustacean is the primary food source for the Blue whales. Nutrient rich waters to sustain the blue whales diet. the only other thing the Blue whale population needs to sustain itself is mates.
